Episode 66: WalMart Newlyweds That Help the Homeless
On August 12, 2011, I just happened to have one of my cameras with me on a mundane trip to Wal-Mart in Dickson City, PA. In front of the store, waving to people and having their picture taken, was a newly married couple with bridesmaid.
Investigating, I found out that the groom was a man from New Zealand named Lindsay Tasker, and his new bride was Notheast Pennsylvania's own Ellen Mennell (now Mrs. Tasker.) After their reception, they figured they'd brighten everyone's day at Wal-Mart.
They plan to Honeymoon in Europe, and settle back in New Zealand, where together they run an organization that provides temporary housing to the homeless around the world, especially after disasters like the ones that have struck in Haiti.
They both struck me as faith filled, positive people who brought a smile to my face, and with their permission, hopefully one to yours. You can check out their website at http://www.seekashelter.com/.
